Frequently Asked Questions


  1. 1.How much does it cost to hire an investigator?  Most cases are worked using two investigators at a combined hourly rate of $115 plus tax and any expenses.  Investigators travel in separate vehicles and change positions frequently when followed a vehicle to avoid detection. 

  2. 2.Can I hire an investigator to check out an address? This should only take about 45 minutes including drive time to and from the location.  We have a 4-hour minimum whenever surveillance is requested.  There are times where we try to assist you by offering to check out an address IF one of our investigators is passing by that location while going to another case. 

  3. 3.What if I find out at the last minute that my spouse if going out after work and it’s already 3:00 p.m.  Will you be able to get investigators out there before 4:30 p.m.?  Although we would like your business this type of situation usually ends in failure.  We spent our first few years in business jumping through hoops and quickly discovered that we were just wasting our time and our clients money.  Most often we discovered that the spouse left work well before their normal stop time because of the plans that were made for the afternoon/evening.  For this reason we would rather wait and watch for another opportunity.  Most cheating spouses find ways to see the other person multiple times during the week.  Even if it’s just for 30 minutes.  There will be other opportunities.

  4. 4.How do I communicate with your office?  The phone number listed on our web site goes directly to the owners cell phone.  The same person will answer the phone every time.

  5. 5.I’m afraid to provide you with my email address or phone number.  What if someone from your office calls while my spouse is around?  We do NOT require you to provide any contact information.  It is listed on our form but you do not have to list it.  Also, due to the nature of our business, we do not make or return phone calls to our client.  We understand that we need to wait for you to call us when the conditions are right on your end.  The only exception to this would be if we have discussed other arrangements in advance.  Most people request that we contact them at work or leave a detailed voice mail message at their work number.

  6. 6.Will I be able to contact the investigators while they are working on my case?  You will be given the cell phone number of the lead investigator on your case.  You will usually be given a specific time to call during the investigation to obtain an update and make any adjustments to the stop time based on what’s happening.  If you obtain any important information about the location of your spouse during the investigation you can call our main number or try contacting the lead investigator.   

  7. 7.What if I do not spend all of the money I gave you for the retainer (deposit)?  Arrangements will be made to send you a company check or drop off cash for the remaining balance.

  8. 8.What happens if I change my mind after I fill out the paperwork and send you the retainer?  You will receive a full refund.  There is no cancellation fee. 

  9. 9.Can I use this evidence for court?  Yes.  Most cases settle out of court but there are a few cases each year that require our investigators to testify.  Our agency and investigators are licensed by the Maryland State Police as required by law.  We are allowed to present any evidence gathered during your investigation in court.

  10. 10.After the surveillance is conducted, what do I receive?  Each investigator will type a detailed report showing a timeline of events.  Photos will be inserted into the report of important activities.  These photos are captured directly from the video tape evidence.  The video tape evidence will be transferred onto a DVD and will be delivered to you along with the report.  A detailed invoice will also be prepared showing the number of hours worked, miles traveled and any other expenses i.e. tolls, parking, etc.
